Solace

My name is Lynzie and I am fucking fabulous. Yes, this blog is named after Schala from Chrono Trigger, thx.

27; Bakersfield, CA, USA; cisfemale; white; asexual and panromantic; extremely liberal; feminist.

This blog is full of nerdiness and social justice and food and cats. Mostly I reblog stuff, but sometimes I post pictures of my cats, sometimes I post what I made for dinner because I fucking love food, and every once in a while I rant about something or other.

People often ask me what my fandoms are; I don't really get into fandoms, but I'm a big fan of The Legend of Zelda series, RENT, El Hazard, most of Squaresoft's games from its Super Nintendo era, and I have a love-hate relationship with Glee and Ragnarok Online.

It’s important to know, folks. The next time you go out to eat, keep in mind that that server isn’t making any money if you don’t tip them, and well.

I get minimum wage as a delivery driver (that’s $8 an hour here in California), but the company doesn’t pay for my gas or car repairs or car washes (which are required, yes; I can technically get sent home and even fired if my car isn’t clean, although my boss probably wouldn’t ever do that), and I do all of the same work that the insiders do when I’m not on deliveries except stretch dough, and that’s only because they haven’t bothered to take the time to teach me to do it yet.

There is a delivery charge tacked onto your total, and most of it does not go to me.  It is $2.50, and I get $1 of it.  That is the company’s way of repaying me for gas and car repairs.  Gas is $4.25 a gallon here atm, and I go through about 4 gallons a night on average.  I very rarely take 17 orders (I took six tonight, it’s usually more like ten), meaning that most of the time that $1 does not even pay for gas, let alone the inevitable repairs.  If you don’t tip me, you might as well tell me, “You deserve to be paid less than the insiders despite the fact that you drove your car to my house to give me my pizza and they didn’t.” and that’s not cool.

Please tip your servers, delivery drivers, hotel maids, hairdressers, and so on.  :(
